About Kim

I am a proud Woodbury native and a graduate of Woodbury High School, Class of 1985. After spending several years away, I returned to Woodbury in 1993 to raise my family and build a life in the community that helped shape who I am. Over the decades, I have watched Woodbury grow from a small suburban community into one of Minnesota's most vibrant and desirable places to live, work, and raise a family.

My husband, Greg, and I have been married for 29 years and are blessed with five children. When our family began to grow, we made the decision for me to step away from my career as a court reporter and focus on raising our children. That experience taught me the importance of strong families, responsible budgeting, quality education, and community involvement—values that continue to guide me today.

For more than 25 years, I have dedicated my time to serving Woodbury families through volunteer leadership, youth programs, community organizations, and local government. My service has included coaching youth sports, mentoring homeschooling families, serving as an election judge, coaching student archery programs, supporting church ministries, and leading numerous community initiatives.

Today, I am honored to serve as a Woodbury City Councilmember, where I work to promote responsible growth, strong public safety, fiscal accountability, and the high quality of life that makes Woodbury such a special place to call home.

I am running for State Representative because I believe Minnesota needs practical, community-focused leadership that puts families first. I will bring the same common-sense approach, work ethic, and commitment to service that have guided me throughout my life. My goal is simple: to ensure Woodbury families have a strong voice in St. Paul and to protect the values and opportunities that make our community thrive.

WHY I AM RUNNING

It has been an honor and a privilege to represent the people and businesses of Woodbury for the past six years as a member of the Woodbury City Council. During my time on the council, I have witnessed firsthand the impact of state government policies and mandates on local communities. All too often, laws are passed without sufficient consideration for the unique needs of each individual city and the long-term consequences of those decisions.

I believe strongly in preserving local control and ensuring residents have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect their communities. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to local government, and I will always advocate for thoughtful policies shaped by public input and local perspectives.

I will remain committed to respectful engagement, open-minded leadership, and a common-sense approach grounded in conservative values. I would be honored to earn your support and continue serving our community by bringing a strong independent voice for transparency, accountability, and responsible government to the State Capitol on behalf of the

residents of  District 47B.  Together we can Protect what makes Woodbury Great.

WHY INDEPENDENT?

My years of local government service have taught me that solving problems isn't about political labels—it's about listening to residents, managing taxpayer dollars responsibly, and delivering results. I'm running as an independent conservative because I believe my first responsibility should be to the people of District 47B, not to a political party.

As your representative, I will bring common-sense conservative solutions to St. Paul, work across political lines to solve problems, and always put people ahead of politics.
